Transport Safety Tips

Emergency Numbers to Know

Save these important contacts:

  • Police: 112
  • Ambulance: 119
  • Tourist Police: Available in major tourist areas

Use Airport & Hotel Transfers

For first-time visitors, airport transfers in Bali are the safest and most convenient option—no price negotiations, no confusion, and no waiting.

Child Safety Comes First

Traveling with children? Opt for private cars with child-friendly seating instead of scooters. Scooters are not recommended for kids due to traffic and road conditions.

Keep Valuables Secure

While traveling, keep phones, bags, and wallets secure—especially on scooters. Use cross-body bags and avoid displaying valuables to prevent snatch theft.

Choose Licensed & Trusted Transport

Always book licensed taxis or private drivers in Bali. Avoid unregistered street taxis, especially at night or in remote areas. Pre-booked transport ensures verified drivers, fixed pricing, and reliable service.

Wear Helmets on Scooters

If you rent a scooter in Bali, wearing a helmet is mandatory by law. Always check brakes, lights, and tires before riding. Tourists are frequently fined for not wearing helmets.

Avoid Riding After Dark

Roads in Bali can be narrow, poorly lit, and busy with local traffic. For safety, avoid riding scooters or driving late at night, especially in rural areas.

Beware of Overloaded Vehicles

Do not travel in overcrowded cars or scooters carrying more than two people. Overloading increases accident risk and is against traffic regulations.

Follow Local Traffic Rules

Bali drives on the left side of the road. Respect speed limits, traffic signals, and local driving customs to avoid accidents or fines.
